Introduction
The topicality of the present research is conditioned by the following factors:
-  insufficient research of political correctness in linguistic and intercultural aspects;
-   insufficient research of political correctness in Kazakhstan;  
-  need of contrastive-comparative analysis of political correctness on the material of the English and Kazakh languages.
The theme of the research work is “Political correctness as cultural-behavioral and linguistic category”.
The purpose of our work is in attempt to describe political correctness as a cultural-behavioral and linguistic category. The stated purpose determines the solution of the following objectives:   
1. to study the content and functions of political discourse, its interrelation with political correctness;
2. to examine political correctness as a cultural-behavioral and linguistic category;
4. to research and collate specific cases of demonstration of the category of political correctness in the English and Kazakh printed mass-media.
The research object is political correctness as a cultural-behavioral and linguistic category.
The subject of our research is the content, functions and the means of expression of the category of political correctness.
The following research methods have been used in this work:
- a descriptive method that allows to study and systematize the literature on the topic;
- the method of distributive analysis used to single out main thematic groups of politically correct vocabulary;
- the method of componential analysis necessary to identify the components of the meaning of politically correct/incorrect vocabulary;     
- the method of text analysis used in the analysis of texts;  
- the method of qualitative analysis that allows to determine the qualitative ration of politically correct /incorrect vocabulary;
- the method of comparative analysis used for the comparison of political correctness in the English and Kazakh languages.
The scientific novelty of diploma work is based on the following:
- an attempt to determine the status of political correctness and its degree of influence on culture and language;  
- conceptualization of historical and national character of political correctness category;
- a study of political correctness tendencies in the Kazakh language.
The theoretical importance of the work is to consider the notion “political correctness” as a cultural-behavioral and linguistic category. It also includes a comparison of the means of expression of political correctness in English and Kazakh.
The Practical value of the diploma work is an opportunity to use its materials in lectures, seminar lessons on country studies, lexicology, stylistics, also in writing course papers and in compiling bibliography.
Texts of English and Kazakh printed mass-media (newspapers of national significance such as The Washington Post, Newsweek, USA Today, Egemen Kazakhstan, Aikyn, Turkistan, Zhas Alash, and others) with the total volume of 200 articles served as our research material.
The structure of the diploma work. The diploma work consists of introduction, two chapters, conclusion, two appendices and references.
The first chapter is devoted to the research of political discourse, its characteristics, and its relation to political correctness. The rise of the term “political correctness” and cultural-linguistic features of political correctness are also studied in this chapter.  
The second chapter represents a comparative analysis of the phenomenon of political correctness that finds its verbal representation in the texts of American and Kazakhstan press.
The conclusion summarizes the results of the study.
